Upcoming New Manga!!

My favorite thing about working for a bookstore is being able to look ahead and check out the titles that are going to be out in the coming months. It really builds up my Goodreads list and gets me excited for release day. Plus, I love the anticipation of new manga. Whether it is a new volume from a series I like, something new by an author I’m a fan of, or a brand new manga that I just love the cover and concept of. Since we are getting steps closer to the end of Summer, I would like to take a moment to share some upcoming releases for the Fall season! 

     The Amazing Digital Circus - Glitch Productions

The ever-popular animated series is now in manga form! Very curious to see how this will translate to a manga. 

     The Record of Fantastical Nomenclature - Maki Komatsu

This looks so beautiful. The cover is absolutely stunning and the premise seems really fun and different! I took a look at some pages and the art is just really nice and unique. I love manga about interesting creatures and things that are adjacent to yokai. 

     Pardon the Intrusion, I’m Home! - Watomura

This looks so cute! I absolutely adore romances with adult characters, especially working adults. Our main character just wants to indulge in her otaku hobbies by herself, but her apartment has other plans. Suddenly she’s got roommates, and they are both handsome guys. 

     Let’s Go Nirvana! - Gen Momoji

A member of the yakuza is forced into witness protection after his fellow gang members are assassinated. Now, along with the boss’s daughter, his best bet for safety is to hide at a Buddhist temple. I really enjoy quirky takes on yakuza stories.

This gives me very magical, historical manga vibes. Maybe a little cozy, too. Reminds me of Witch Hat Atelier and even the worlds of Studio Ghibli. I am really excited for this one, and I love serpents! 

     I Like Cat Butts - Nanaon

Based on the jirai-kei fashion style, this manga reminds you that you can’t judge a book by its cover. A high schooler learns that his classmate’s style does not define her personality. 

     The Apology of Noumi-Senpai - Koala Omugi

The description of this manga seems really lovely. A BL manga that takes place in college, two opposite personalities, and a book club. Sounds good to me.  

     Ghoul Work, Kurose - Macho Tako

A spooky BL manga with a main character who can see spirits and another with a spirit stuck to him. This feels perfect for the upcoming Fall season! It is a high school romance, which isn’t always my favorite, but I am hoping the plot is good enough to keep me reading. 

While making this list, I only chose titles that are brand new. As in, their first volumes are debuting in the coming months. There are tons of ongoing series to choose from, but I wanted to highlight some options that are a total fresh start. I hope this gives some ideas for what to look out for in this upcoming season!
